There is no requirement to wear school branded/badged uniform. Plain items purchased from high street/supermarket chain stores and the such like are perfectly acceptable, providing they adhere to the school’s uniform/colour policy.
Wearing the correct uniform helps to create a sense of belonging and pride in our school community. By adopting our school colours, children feel more connected and part of the team.
Basic uniform
- Grey trousers/ grey pinafore or skirt
Please note the change to grey – if you are using any uniform from last year then black is still acceptable.
- White polo-shirt (with or without school logo)
- Green v-neck jumper or cardigan (with or without school logo)
- Socks/ tights should be grey
- Footwear sensible black school shoes/ trainer-style shoes
Footwear must be plain black including soles, laces, eyelets, logos. This can include shoes, boots, or trainer-style shoes. Please note – every element of the trainer should be black including soles, laces and eyelets and logo. No logo, trim, stitching etc should be any other colour.
- All hair accessories should be in school colours. No oversized clips are allowed.
Summer options (Summer term until Autumn half term)
- White t-shirt
- Grey shorts/ skirt
- Green jumper or cardigan
- Grey/ white socks
- Pale green gingham summer dress (with white socks)
- Sensible black shoes/ trainers/ flat sandals (closed toe)
We appreciate your help in ensuring the children are comfortable, smart and proud of their school.
PE/Games kits
All children must come to school wearing their PE kit on their relevant PE days (with a change of shoes available in case footwear gets muddy).
Indoor kit
- Green or black sports shorts (the style shown in the above image – not tight fitting cycling style shorts)
- Plain white, round-neck T-shirts
Outdoor kit
- Black or green PE shorts/ skort/ cycling shorts (No logos/ branded items)
Please note that hotpants are not acceptable and cycling shorts should be no shorter than mid-thigh.
- Plain black joggers/leggings for winter
- Plain black/ green hoodie (with or without school logo) – branded/sports tops are not acceptable
- White t-shirts (with or without school logo) – football tops and other sports branded tops are not acceptable
- Trainers (white/ black – no bright colours)
Earrings
Earrings need to be removed prior to the PE day. Your child may be refused to access P.E. if earrings are not removed. Hair longer than shoulder length should always be tied back. This is an essential safety requirement. Make-up, including nail varnish is not allowed.
Please ensure all clothing is marked with your child’s name, either with a name tape or written in ink on the garment’s label.
Jewellery and Hair Styles
Jewellery, other than plain ear studs and non-smart watches, extreme hair styles, including hair colouring, hair gel and razor cut designs are not permitted, nor are excessive hair decorations, such as large colourful bows.
If your child has hair that is shoulder length or longer, for safety reasons it will need to be tied up.

Decorative items such as nail varnish or nail extensions should not be worn.
Please note: all earrings must be removed before PE/ Swimming lessons so please either remove them before your child comes to school or check that your child can do so independently.
Lost Property
All items, including clothing, shoes, lunchboxes etc. should be marked with your child’s name – please check names regularly. In a large school it is almost impossible to trace lost property unless it is marked.
If any item of your child’s property is lost please let us know as soon as possible. Lost property found around the school is handed in and if not claimed is held for a short period before being disposed of.

Uniform Hub
The Market Drayton Uniform Hub is a voluntary hub set up and run by volunteers from the local churches, to take in donations of unused and outgrown uniform for second hand use. The donated items are cleaned and repaired as necessary, before being made available free of charge, to those in the community who may need it.
